This superb Ikat is weft dyed; meaning the weft is dyed by tying it off in portions to resist the dye before weaving, resulting in the characteristic fluid look synonymous with Ikat. The uneven stripes swathe gently across the width of the fabric.

Taking around 4 hours to weave a single meter, it is made by a small weaving village in Thailand. All sales directly support the community, ensuring the weavers get paid fairly for their craft. Produced without the use of electricity and dyed naturally with plant and vegetable dyes, using no chemical mordants, This fabric is rich in charm and authenticity.

Suitable for many sewing projects; Home furnishings - Big Beautiful Cushions, Summer Jackets, Trousers, Skirts & Bags. We think this would make a perfect pair of '101 Trousers' or a divine  'Cambria Duster Coat'.
