Heat Press Foiling & Screen Printing Workshop, Thursday May 25th 10am - 12.30pm
In this workshop, we will screen print, paint and use textures to create patterns onto fabric using foil adhesive glue. Once dry, embellish the surface with foils using a heat press, leaving the material shiny. Bring along simple design ideas, abstract shapes and patterns that we can translate your designs from paper to fabric, making small textile samples. This technique can be applied to a range of materials such as silk, suede, leather, cotton and linen. See what you have at home such as scrap pieces of fabric, textured surfaces such as knit, stitch, weave, crochet samples, an old t-shirt or tote bag, we can up-cycle and transform your materials with foil. This workshop is suitable for teachers, designers, students and for those who are curious about design. By the end of the workshop, you will have a collection of A5 textile samples. Feel free to make your own hand cut stencils prior to the workshop, this will allow more time for printing.
