Stag & Bow

Stag and Bow host a continuously evolving wide programme of workshops from beginners’ standards - knitting, crochet and understanding your sewing machine - to more advanced classes in spoon carving, felting, lino printing and more. We also run classes themed round new book and product launches. Many of our tutors are local makers.

Experimental Screen Printing Sunday 7th July 10-1pm

Experimental Screen Printing Sunday 7th July 10-1pm

In this workshop students will experiment with a range of textile inks such as screen printing with specialist binders, puff, metallic and pearl.

The first hour of the workshop will be spent undertaking a range of experimental drawing and mark making techniques. Participants will then begin to draw and create hand cut stencils ready to screen print onto material. Your prints could be inspired from the selection if images provided, or focus on your own designs. We will print onto a range of heavy and light weight materials, layering colours and working in repeat patterns. By the end of the workshop you will have a collection of fabric samples that you can add to or develop your portfolios.

All materials are provided in the workshops, however you are also welcome to bring your own materials from home and final pieces to print onto. We do encourage for you to see what you have at home to up-cycle and transform through print, rather than buying something new. These workshops are suitable for teachers, designers, students and for those who are curious about design, no experience necessary, all levels welcome. Feel free to make your own hand cut stencils prior to the workshops, this will allow more time for printing, and wear cloths that you don’t mind getting a bit messy in.
