In this workshop we will be exploring the endless possibilities of the log cabin quilting pattern.

This pattern, made from strips of fabric sewn around central squares, has been popular for over 150 years and is a wonderful way to play with the contrasts of colours, and light and dark shading. It is also one of the easiest quilting patterns to make, so it’s perfect for both beginners and more experienced quilters.

In this workshop you will learn how to cut and sew your fabrics, then make a mini quilt with one log cabin block. Handouts will be provided so you can continue your log cabin journey at home and think about larger projects now that you have learned all the techniques.

All materials and equipment provided but should you wish to bring your own sewing machine and materials then please do!

Sunday 16th June - 10am - 4pm

Refreshments are provided and this class includes a break for an hour for lunch. You are very welcome to bring a packed lunch and stay in our studio or you may want to visit one of our fantastic local places to eat - we can recommend a few!
