Recycled cotton shirting fabric in a striking green and navy "blackwatch" check pattern.
Lightweight, matt fabric in a traditional plaid called "Blackwatch" with a fabulous drape on the bias. Brushed on one side, the material is incredibly soft and comfortable with a dry and warm handle. It's opaque, so no lining or doubling of the fabric is required for garments. It has been machine woven, so the quality is consistent and smooth. The checks measure: each block from green edge to black edge is 72mm (weft) x 86mm (warp). Ideal for projects requiring larger pattern pieces, such as skirts or jackets. At approximately 135gsm, it is suitable for light to medium weight projects, including skirts, trousers, shirts, cosy loungewear, light blankets and quilts, linings and blinds, dresses and accessories.

To care for your product:
Suitable for the washing machine and tumble dryer. Iron cool-medium temperature, but it is suggested to do so when damp or spray a little water on it first to protect the brushed finish, and iron on the reverse if possible. Also, try not to twist and, if possible dry flat.
Turn the machine down to 30 degrees for a more environmentally friendly wash. In Europe alone, if every household turned its washing temperature down to 30°C, we could save 12 million tons of CO2 annually.
We also recommend line drying, which reduces energy usage and looks after your textiles for longer. Use a mild detergent, light botanical refresher or steam the item you've made in your bathroom after a hot shower.
Please note, due to the nature of recycled fabrics, there may be slight irregularities in the weave caused by yarn differences, e.g. slubs.
